DirectionsMagazine podcast calls for “GeoAggregation”

in News

In Directions Magazine’s Podcast from July 3, 2007, (mp3) said in their opinion one of the most lucrative geospatial businesses that doesn’t yet exist would aggregate user-generated geospatial data.

This is exactly what Mapufacture does, it aggregates any user-generated and geospatial data on the web, allows users to create areas of interest like their neighborhood, or city, and then get the combined, aggregated points and features. It also supports general search on terms, tags, and from providers - making it easy for users to find geospatial data that is interesting to them.

Mapufacture hopes to continue to excel in this role by allowing people to find both hyperlocal information as well as regional and national information from a large number of sources and make this information available to you from our mobile phone clients, widgets, and KML/GeoRSS output for when you’re traveling, in the community, or on the trail.
